Isaiah 54:17 “People will make weapons to fight against you, but their weapons will not defeat you. Some people will say things against you, but anyone who speaks against you will be proved wrong.” The Lord says, “That is what my servants get! They get the good things that come from me, their Lord. Many people are out of work, dealing with illness, eviction, mental health issues, natural disasters - the list goes on. Some days, the coffee pot won't turn on, the dog pees in his kennel, and the car won't start. With so many things going wrong in the world, it may sometimes feel like the devil has a target on your back. But the devil is a liar! If God is for us, who can be against us? (Romans 8:31) God is here to help you. That's His promise. He will never leave you or forsake you.
Knowing that things do happen to shift our focus and rob us of joy and peace, we need a strategy to cope daily and overcome in life. I have learned over the years that beginning the day by spending time with God in prayer helps me to handle whatever the day may bring. We are admonished to pray continually, and we can do that in our hearts as we stay conscious of God's presence. I've found this practice helps me deal with anxiety and fear, even as things unfold. To take it further, have a two-way conversation with God who has all the answers need. To do that, nothing beats reading the Bible and meditating on God's word. It is the opportunity to hear the Creator of the universe speak to me and prepare me for life by His Spirit. The promises of God are eternal - claim them and appropriate them for your individual situation. You will find that God is faithful and He keeps His word.
My pastor always said, "the devil cannot hate you more than the Lord loves you". God loves you, regardless of your circumstances. He is all-powerful and promises to turn things around if you will turn to Him and involve Him. He will help you overcome the problems of this life.
The first step is to call on the Lord Jesus Christ; ask Him into your heart by acknowledging your need for Him. If you believe in your heart that Jesus is the son of God and confess with your mouth that Jesus Christ is Lord, you will be saved.
